How meta can you get? Just yesterday we were saying that Scream was based on scary real life events. The Gainesville Murders gave to Kevin Williamson the scope that he needed to create the movie. I guess that he never imagined that his script would inspire insane people to transform reality into a scary movie, Stab style... This way, Scream was recently listed in a Bad Inspiration top five, compiled by FEAR net. Here is what they have to say about it:
In my opinion, you can't justify horrible acts like these easily putting the blame on entertainment. People like those were born with violent tendencies and are so far away from reality, that they just needed a scapegoat - in this case, the movies - to lay their guilt on. The movie already protects itself when Billy Loomis says "Movies don't create psychos. Movies make psychos more creative" but several discussions took place as we can see on the amazing documentary Scream: The Inside Story. Photo: Scream Trilogy Tumblr Your turn to SCREAM
